Incineration Bottom Ash Solution

Municipal Solid Waste / Bottom Ash

Incineration Bottom Ash Solution

Bottom ash is a byproduct of municipal solid waste incineration, accounting for approximately 20%-30% of total waste volume, primarily composed of glass, slag, ceramic and brick fragments, stones, iron, and other metals; without proper treatment, it will inevitably cause secondary environmental pollution.

SOLUTION

What Can We Do?

Bottom ash aggregates produced from slag have chemical and physical properties similar to natural aggregates or blended materials used in the cement industry. Circular economy projects that utilize bottom ash for brick making, cement raw materials, and road base aggregates not only meet environmental requirements but also maximize the utilization of "waste" resources.

Our equipment supports fully automatic operation with fault alarm functions, designed to reduce reliance on manual monitoring and improve management efficiency. The full-chain services provided, including solution design, installation and commissioning, and operation and maintenance training, constitute a complete commercial solution.

CORE TECHNOLOGY

Core Technology

01

Eddy Current Separation

Recovers aluminum to improve overall recovery rate. When materials pass through an alternating magnetic field at a certain speed, induced eddy currents are generated in these non-magnetic conductive metals. Due to the relative velocity between the material flow and the magnetic field, a thrust force acts on the metal flakes and pieces generating eddy currents. This principle enables the separation of certain non-ferrous metals from mixed material streams.

02

Density Differential Water Flotation

Separation achieved through water medium and density differences: jigs use water as the separation medium, leveraging the specific gravity difference between slag metals and slag materials to separate non-ferrous metals from non-metals; shaking table separation uses gravity, lateral water flow force, and inertia and friction from reciprocating asymmetric bed motion to stratify by specific gravity and particle size, finely separating fine-grained metals.

ADVANTAGES

Advantages

01

Full Resource Recovery and High-Value Utilization

Through a series of treatment processes including screening, magnetic separation, crushing, and flotation, unburned residues and various valuable metals (such as iron, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, etc.) are separated from the bottom ash with high metal recovery rates and good economic returns. The bottom ash is also processed into various grades of recycled aggregate for comprehensive utilization.

02

Zero Production Wastewater Discharge

Production wastewater is recycled with zero discharge, avoiding secondary environmental pollution. Sludge-laden water undergoes sedimentation tank settling and plate-and-frame filter press dewatering, with filter cake transported offsite or reused for brick making; supernatant is recycled for reuse, achieving water conservation and zero discharge.

Liaoning Municipal Solid Waste Incineration Plant Bottom Ash Comprehensive Utilization Project

Location
Dalian
Daily Processing Capacity
500 t/d

The Liaoning municipal solid waste incineration plant bottom ash comprehensive utilization project was put into operation in 2024, with a designed capacity of 500 t/d, processing bottom ash from municipal solid waste incineration power plants. This project primarily uses physical methods (including particle size screening, magnetic separation, flotation separation, and eddy current separation) to re-process the bottom ash from the incineration plant, separating iron, aluminum, and small amounts of non-magnetic metals (such as copper), while also producing construction recycled aggregate. The separated metals are sold to recycling units for reuse; coarse and fine aggregates are sold to brick factories or building material production plants for reuse.
